Hi everyone, I think this site is wonderful for all the great info. I just wanted to get some feedback if anyone has used a compounding lab for any of your meds. My GI gave me a perscription for 800MG of Mesalamine Supp. He called it into a Compound Pharmacy. The dosage is higher then the usual one they prescribe. It took a couple of hours to make. It's been 3 days and the blood is almost gone. The Prescription is for two weeks. Just thought I'd share. Hope this is of some interest.

no, never had the experience with having suppositories compounded but lotions and some cough syrups are sometimes compounded. I did have some of those throughout the years done...

Interesting the doc didn't just prescribe you the Canasa or have them compound the suppositories in 1000 mg dosages.
I don't know if the generic mesalamine supps come in 1000mg.
You should taper the morning suppositories firstly and then the nightly ones to about twice a week.  You'll need more refills...

Keep us posted as to how you're doing.
