I had a scope at the beginning of last Sept, and I used the Miralax method for the first time. I didn't find the taste offensive at all, and it didn't seem like too much to drink for either. Plus it cleaned me out better than I've ever been cleaned before!
Based on others experiences, as well as my own, I'd like to make a few suggestions you won't see on the instruction sheet. First off, start the liquid diet a couple of days earlier. I know it is hard, but you'll understand why when you do the prep. When you are shopping for your liquid meals, but you sports beverage of choice and get it in the fridge ASAP. Find a tolerable non-red, orange, or blue sports drink and buy it early, and get it chilled.
The morning of the prep day, mix the Miralax into the beverage and shake vigorously for awhile, then shake it some more. Then put it back in the fridge. It goes down better when it is cool. If you're instructions were like mine, I wasn't supposed to start drinking it until 5pm! That is way too late!!! I got absolutely no sleep that night, unless you count my legs falling asleep from sitting on the pot all night. I'd take the pills and start drinking around noon of the prep day.
I'm not sure if my case was extreme, but after you down the liquid, stay very close to the toilet. The urgency is beyond urgency, it is more like you should have predicted the movement two minutes earlier. I'll admit I ended up with an accident because I wasn't prepared for the suddenness of the expulsion. I was still having urgency feelings the next afternoon before the scope despite there being nothing to get rid of. Despite what I just described, I'd prefer to use the Miralax method again over any of the other preps. I went down better, cleaned me out better, and I didn't wind up throwing up half the solution.
Let us know how things look, If they give you picturesm you could post them as kind of a "This is what I did with my summer vacation" display. Maybe you'll start a trend and soon everyone will have colon pictures by their signatures. I just realized how tired and loopy I am, so I gotta head off to bed.
Spudly, let us know how things looked and what the prelim results were. After supporting you through the prep, I feel that I need some closure on the subject now.
