This flare has been unlike any flare i've had in the past.It started 2 weeks ago.I was trying to quit smoking again. After 5 days i started having cramps and mucous and nausea.I knew a flare was coming so i started smoking again to see if it would ease but it hasn't.
Usually with any flare up i spend most of my day in the bathroom but this time around it  isn't like that at all. This time around i be really bad for an hour in the morning, an hour at teatime and not too bad at night. But my bms are ranging from pure mucous with blood to  really black bms.(and no i'm not drinking stout again:) tongue  If only all flares were this easy to handle. The pain can be quite acute but the really bad part of this flare is actually the nausea, its really bad in the mornings.
My doctor gave me a 5 day course of pred(20mgs daily) to see if it can help me.I'm going for my annual check up next thursday, i'm overdue my colonoscopy so i know whats comingMy dads going for one tomorrow morning too, they think he may have an ibd too:(.
hope all is well with all my friends here.

Hope you get this flare in control soon. By the way Marty, hows the CD coming. Is it out in stores yet. I listened to the tracks you have on myspace and they are absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to hear the rest of it.

It will be on sale within two weeks, don't want to advertise here cos its against rules so just check my site for details.
The Pred isn't helping, i've been up a lot during the night with really acute bowel spasms on both sides of my upper colon, nasty pains. I have to see my gi on thursday, hopefully he will get me sorted.
