I've been reading several articles about the benefits of Acai juice.  Do any of you have info you could share?  The articles (some of which are sponsored by various acai juice companies) claim this juice is a miracle cure for UC and Crohns.  Wouldn't that be wonderful!!!  If you do use this juice, how much do you take?

Any info would be appreciated.

It's healthy, but a miracle cure is saying alot. You can buy it at Kroger's though and try it. I'll sometimes hydrate my goji berries, add blueberries and honey and blend all that to make my own juice. Pretty good stuff, and good for you.

A really great source of Acai is a product called Mandura. It combines a high level of Acai and 3 other superfruits. You get the Acai benefits along with Mangosteen Durian and American Blueberry. Heres is the link to my personal site.

On a similar note,we have tried, and are still taking Mangosteen juice. The company Zango sells the whole fruit processed in a fruity bottle, but Costco and Whole Foods also carry the juice. It is supposed to be anti-inflammatory in nature because of its Zanthones. I figure it can't hurt, and with the other vitamins, it might just help a bit. Tastes great, but is expensive. No cure yet....

I've never tried it. I saw an article in the paper about a year ago which stated that blueberries were one of the healthiest foods (which is probably why they are much more expensive than they used to be). I see the acai blueberry juice at Costco and have wanted to try it, but would really like to hear how it tastes. Does anyone think kids would like it?

We just bought cranberry acai because it had healthy levels of real sugar in it - I liked it but it gave me heartburn. I like it better watered down. I am concerned that it is advertised as a "weight loss" product. It made me wonder if it makes you "go" more.

I'd be careful w/ Durian - I don't know how it tastes but I know it smells so foul it is banned from the subways in Singapore - by law lol.
27 Year old married female law student (last year!!). Diagnosed w/ CD 4 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD. I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid. For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn. I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13. I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium. Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night. I also take a birth control pill to allow some fun in my life.

Xango juice is very good (healthy) and also the taste is not bad, I've used it, it's a bit expensive for a juice but very good (although you only take some sips of it, not a whole bottle of it daily!)
