You can get RX for hemmies from your doc, if OTC's aren't helping then I'd go that route, the quicker the better, why suffer if you don't have to...feel better soon.

If you have not tried Proctofoam or the like ask your doctor for a prescription.  ElaineNY

if they are external the thing that works best for me is sitting on an ice pack for a little while.
the creams rarely do anything for me although i've recently had more luck with the prep H suppositories. but while these help the hemmies, they also seem to cause some short term aching in the area.
ice pack is still my favorite.

Oh hemmorhoids, they just add insult to injury in my book.  I posted on my blog about how I treat my hemi's and skin tags, plus I put some good links to Mayo Clinic on hemi treatments.

Good luck with those,

Skin tags can often be a result of crohn's as well (perianal crohn's skin tags) which is not related to UC but rather CD.

The reason why they are not suppose to be removed (especially if they are perianal crohn's skin tags) is because they are actually diseased tissue and will not likely heal, get infected a lot because of the area and may interfere with muscles/tissues in the anus which can lead to fecal incontinence.

They differ from hemmies because hemmies are inflamed veins and skin tags are inflamed crohn's disease.
