I go to number 1 a lot - I wonder if other guys here share that experience. It is as if the pushing and squeezing and pressure from so many difficult BMs squeezes the prostate and bladder too so they are always on alert too.
21 years of UC which started after quitting smoking. In and out of flares which are usually triggered by antibiotics. Latest issue is endless diarrhea without blood or mucous.

  • 2 500mg Pentasa a day

after I started tapering off prednisone I started peeing all the time. 3 times a night and every hour throughout the day. I asked the specialist and he said my body was trying to rid itself of the drugs and flushing them out. I was also very very thirsty so I think this was part of it.. But I continue to drink lots of water and continue to pee lots, and I've noticed my hair returning, and my weight slowly coming down. The one symptom I still have is arthritis like symptoms in my legs...but I figure that they will eventually go too... So rejoice! Every time you pee you are a bit closer to having that poison out of your body! :)

I would definitly say prednisone can increase the urgency to urinate. I just got off it a week ago and during my tapper and usually when i first start a regimend i get up at night like every 2 hours or less. It was frustrating only at night for me because i hate waking up. Anyways i have been off prednisone for 10 days now and the frequent urinating has stopped. Also my acne has started to really clear up, and my appetite isnt so raging out of control. I am glade to be off the drug. The only bad thing is my joints are sore and stiff especially in the morning. I am hoping maybe its a fall season bug or something and goes away asap!

My doctor told me that inflammation in the rectum can make you have to pee a lot because of pressure on the bladder.
