I like the phosfo soda the best! It's the only one that did not make me puke and cry. I did get bum burn out though, it really cleanses your system. Drink plenty of water!

happy pooping! refresh your bathroom reading material!
Beth, 33 ~ hoping to taper pred successfully, wish me luck!

Only one per year?  Lucky duck!  I usually get at least 3 per year. Think how clean your system will be when you're done:)  It is the worst part of the colonoscopy for sure.  I have to say though, since I've had so many, I NEVER do the entire prep.  Once your poop starts to run clear, you are good to go.  Think about it, they give you the same prep they would give a 300 lb man.  I don't know about you but I am only 5"1' and 115 lbs.  No way do I ever do  that whole prep, the dr. even said that as long as the stool is mostly clear, that's fine.  Good luck to you.  I just had a sigmoidoscopy and now I have to get yet another colonoscopy in Cleveland:(

Diagnosed with Left sided colitis...mostly proctosigmoiditis.
Presently on .10mg Pred and tapering
Off Lialdi (didn't help) and
6 mp (no help)
LOADED with pseudopolyps
Waiting to go to Cleveland for opinion

You don't have to hold your nose and it doesn't have to be painful going down (comming out is another story though LOL)....

Just pour 1/3 of the 45ml bottle into a full glass of CLEAR cold pop and drink it as fast as you can (as you're suppose to get it down fast) you can even add ice...doing this 3 times in total one right after the other, will get the full 45ml bottle down in a breeze, no nasty taste or smell compared to drinking it by itself or all mixed into one glass of clear pop, 1/3 at a time does the trick plus this way you're getting plenty of fluid with it as you're suppose to...then after your 3 glasses of it, follow with plenty of water to help flush it all out.

:)
My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)

hope it "goes" well...

If all your biopsies are fine regarding precancer and cancer...maybe you should discuss with your doc to have them every two years. And if they are fine then, maybe every 3 years.

Scopes and the prep can cause inflammation...and if you're doing well, why cause potential irritation?

Just a suggestion,
quincy

My doc says every two years is often enough, even though my disease is always somewhat active.
I think three time per year would do more harm than good!!
49 year old female attorney, diagnosed UC/pancolitis 1985, no surgery but much suffering.
Asacol/5ASA 6x400 mg maintenance for 20+ years; use prednisone & Rowasa for flares.
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Food sensitivity test showed gluten, other intolerances; started diet without gluten, soy, dairy, tomato etc. Replete probiotic first, then Forte pills.
Achieved remission for the first time in many, many years!? Seemed so, but colonoscopy Oct. 6 proved not so, heavy inflammation in ascending colon & will be using Rowasa again. But I AM better.
