Hello All,

I'm right now on 4 pills / day Lialda dosage and 1000mg Canasa Suppository as needed.
I'm doing well for last couple of months without any problems.
Nearly 1 month back i started probiotics 2billions / capsule 3 / day...
Last week i ate wheat food and next day night i drank one small cup of milk, All of a sudden next day i started seeing blood and mucus, it is my mistake.. This is still going on and I'm scared if it will end up with a flare......
Not sure what to do now..?
What could be the reason?
I'm confused whether the inflammation stays in the colon during remission and starts bleeding if it is attacked by some food..Is it just for me or all people suffer the same......?
Lots of things going on in my mind and feeling very tired

Please respond to my questions.your advises are appreciated.........

Thank you all in advance.........

You might want to call your doctor to see about adjusting your meds. You may want to try Cortenema or maybe Entocort to see if they'll help. I would try to do something before things get too out of control.

The ASA meds. always make me worse and never kept the bleeding away so I have no suggestions there.

Why are you blaming the food that you ate on your flare? Most people don't think that food causes a flare.

it's not the food....

You state you use the Canasa as needed...were you on them nightly/daily? every so often? have you started using them recently again because of some symptoms?

One does need consistency with rectal meds, to increase during a flare or taper for maintenance...up and down as needed, but consistent regarding your symptoms.

For many of us, constipation can be an early symptom we tend to miss...have you been constipated lately?

After you drank the milk did you have any excessive gas or bloating? Did you have to use the toilet shortly after (within at least 30 minutes)? If so that could be an indication of lactose can be easily masked by IBD symptoms so getting tested is best.

My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)

My doctor tends to think it is not food related, however, I suffered a flare twice the day after consuming crab there you have it.  I swear to never eat another crab em...but not worth the pain.

I think it is important to be consistant w/ your meds and not skip. As far as food? It bothers me. I can't handle milk for example so I stay away from it. There have been many threads about food upsetting UC and what one can eat the other can't. It's a crazy disease and different for each person.

Diagnosised 8/25/08 GRRR
Started flare mid-May/feeling better but still flaring
Canasa 2x a day
