In my opinion YES!  I am just using Align which is not usually recommended here but it firmed up my stool right away and helped my BM's to be more normal.

I use Align also. My GI recommended it to me. I couldn't find it on the shelf so my pharmacy orders it for me. It seems to work for me.

Lialda 3 tablets  daily
Remicade every 8 weeks
Folid Acid daily
Methotrexate 3 times a week

Yes, my pharmacy ordered it too but I found it behind the pharmacy counter of two other stores - just asked for it.

Do your homework. Do a search for probiotics, leaky gut, gut ecology, etc. You'll find plenty of information and studies proving they work. The key is finding a quality formula with viable and effective strains... and combining probiotic supplementation with healthy diet and avoiding the things that kill off good gut flora - broad spectrum antibiotics, steroids, birth control pills, poor diet.
Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999.

Maintenance dose sulfasalazine.
Probiotics, l-glutamine and fish oil caps. George's aloe vera juice. Oregano oil antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal. Long-term remission with only minor blips.
