Hi everyone, after my kiddos had a stomach flu last week my flare seemed to worsen a lot. Who knows, maybe it was coincidence. Anyway, the blood was awful, so GI dr started me on Pred (4th time this year including once IV). I rarely have diarrhea. I'm already on Imuran, lots of supplements, probiotics, Canasa, meds for pain prevention, and about 2 weeks ago stopped Asacol because it was causing hair loss. OK, my question is do you all think that tapering down 5mg every 3 days from 40mg is kind of fast? My Dr usually goes 2.5mg every week. I finished a taper like this about a month ago. I just want to get better. Like others on this board I'm an upbeat person, but recently all of this pain and feeling like I'm going to be sick and lethargic forever has made me feel really upset. It is so lame. Not to mention the NW rains have set in for the winter......
Thanks for reading.

Opinions are like @ssholes, everyone has one and they stink. When it comes to prednisone discuss it with your doctor, we are here for support, but the last thing i want to see is someone suggesting harmful info due to ignorance and you getting hurt. That maybe why no one has replied yet. Coming off prednisone too fast can be deadly. Last i checked deadly is worse than sickly. Hope you feel better soon.
