Suggestions needed. Not sure if it's UC or flu.

Hi all,

I've been feeling weird all week, thought I was getting sick, then the "D" hit this morning. Only ran to the toilet twice, but am taking time off of work cuz I developed a fever of 100.4 and chills. I know with meds a fever is a concern. I had to force myself to eat lunch, now I am home with a sweater on not into moving at all. I'm guessing it's the flu, but with the fever should I call my doc, or try tylenol first? I think I may try the tylenol first then move onto the next step.

Thanks for listening.

Try and not suppress that fever if you can. Your body is fighting something off.

They have drugs that can help flu now, I think. So make the call.
Sorry you are suffering so!
49 year old female attorney, diagnosed UC/pancolitis 1985, no surgery but much suffering.
Asacol/5ASA 6x400 mg maintenance for 20+ years; use prednisone & Rowasa for flares.
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Food sensitivity test showed gluten, other intolerances; started diet without gluten, soy, dairy, tomato etc. Replete probiotic first, then Forte pills.
Achieved remission for the first time in many, many years!? Seemed so, but colonoscopy Oct. 6 proved not so, heavy inflammation in ascending colon & will be using Rowasa again. But I AM better.

Sounds like it could be either a flare of the flu - gosh wish I could help, but I sure hope you feel better soon!

Thanks, I'm a lot better today, it was the stomach flu, both ways though. Got over most of it this morning, and I now still have that "fever." It jumps from 99.3 to 100.6. I think I'm gonna wait it out for a bit longer and then probably call advice tonight if needed.
