Sometimes when I feel bad I feel like I'm fixing to have a heart attack.  I feel comfortable that I'm not in that I've had a pft test, catscan on my chest, xrays, and cholestrol is in check.  But I just hate that feeling on my bad days.  Anyway, just curious.

I have MVP and when I flare it acts up majorly. I have so many skips, flutters and butterflies in my chest at times that it scares me. I have had numerous tests too and there is nothing seriously wrong with my heart nor is my MVP very bad - it's very mild to be exact. But yes, it sure is scary!

Anxiety will cause all those palpitations, skips and butterflies - visit any anxiety message board and you will find this a constantly recurring topic!  I've been dealing with anxiety for many years (way before UC!) I know how scary these feelings can be.  Deep relaxation and meditation can do wonders, so can counselling (not cheap though, unfortunately!).  If you've had the tests and they've come back normal you need to ignore those symptoms and trust that everything is fine, it's just your body telling you to relax!!

Only when on Prednisone.
Might too much B-12 cause that feeling?
49 year old female attorney, diagnosed UC/pancolitis 1985, no surgery but much suffering.
Asacol/5ASA 6x400 mg maintenance for 20+ years; use prednisone & Rowasa for flares.
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Food sensitivity test showed gluten, other intolerances; started diet without gluten, soy, dairy, tomato etc. Replete probiotic first, then Forte pills.
Achieved remission for the first time in many, many years!? Seemed so, but colonoscopy Oct. 6 proved not so, heavy inflammation in ascending colon & will be using Rowasa again. But I AM better.
