So I just returned from a weekend getaway with a friend (which unfortunately turned into a 1 night getaway due to a sick child), & I drove- my friend has a Volvo with heated seats- pure BLISS! I have never ridden in a car with them, & oh my god do they feel good! I had a so-so bathroom morning- indulged in boneless buffalo wings, onion rings & beer last night, so I was in the bathroom on & off a good 3 hours this AM! Yikes.... anyway, my butt was pretty tender. We get in the car & the seats start heating up.... it's a heating pad for your backside! It just makes all the tense muscles relax & really helps on those tough mornings. They are a definite must-have for my next vehicle. And to think I used to scoff at heated seats..... never again! smilewinkgrin

I have a Focus with heated seats and I absolutely LOVE it! I have alot of back issues so it comes in handy not to mention when it gets cold outside, the seats heat up before the car does and it's pure heaven :)

the wife has heated leather seats in her grand cherokee ltd... they really do make my urgency subside a little sometimes....gotta love em... now if they would just start making vehicle seats with toilets built in, i would not fear road trips!

hahaha!!! Can you imagine sitting on the pot while driving or riding? I found the heated seats made my urgency disappear, I drove for 4 hours total & made 1 bathroom stop... just to pee! Granted, I'm doing alright on a day-today basis, but still!

Gotta love those heated seats! I live in a warm climate so I don't need them to keep warm, but when we travel long distances those warm seats help keep our old backs from aching. We have to crank up the AC to use them of course, but totally worth it.
UC diagnosed 10/05, first symptoms 1983
asacol 12/daily and rowasa as needed
Trying out Culturelle Probiotic
past rx: colozal, lialda, canasa

My Caddy also has CHILLED seats which are great when I've stressed my back -- like after golf or gardening.
Heat on the way to the course to loosen up muscles, then chill them on the way home...

Actually, cool on my bad gut helps better than heat (although heat FEELS better).

Caddy also has a heated steering wheel...GM is not all bad.
49 year old female attorney, diagnosed UC/pancolitis 1985, no surgery but much suffering.
Asacol/5ASA 6x400 mg maintenance for 20+ years; use prednisone & Rowasa for flares.
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Food sensitivity test showed gluten, other intolerances; started diet without gluten, soy, dairy, tomato etc. Replete probiotic first, then Forte pills.
Achieved remission for the first time in many, many years!? Seemed so, but colonoscopy Oct. 6 proved not so, heavy inflammation in ascending colon & will be using Rowasa again. But I AM better.
