Just wondering--Had my first remicade infusion almost 2 weeks ago--due for second infusion in 2 days.  Everything seems to be ok--some improvement --less bleeding and actually slept thru the entire night twice now!!

Two days ago I developed a localized moderately itchy rash just on my forearms.  I had worn a wool sweater that day with a cotton shirt under it, and I have never been bothered by wool before.  Took benadryl and it is still there but not bothering me a lot.

Anybody else have this happen on remicade?  Hope it's not related.  Some bleeding has returned, too. Hope when the loading doses are over this stuff takes hold and really works--I'd sure like to stay off the dread pred. rolleyes

I don't think it's related- sounds more like topical dermatitis, or even just dry skin. I don't know where you are, but here in Massachusetts we are definitely using the heat, & the air is becoming Sahara-like. I've never gotten any rash myself from Remicade. Plus I would think if you were going to have an allergic reaction like that, it would've appeared immediately after an infusion.

diagnosed with UC '02
meds-
Asacol- 8 tabs/day
Remicade-10mgs/kg- since 4/07
Imuran- 150mgs/day

Thanks for the input Eve Lou--

I didn't think a reaction would take that long, either.  I'm in Mississippi, but we defintely have the heat on here, too
