Hi Sick Colon, and welcome to HealingWell! We are happy to have you join us, but not happy that you are dealing with this lovely illness. Of course, you'll find a lot of good support and suggestions here. We all know what you are dealing with. Sounds like you are on quite a few meds; has the Remi helped at all? Again, welcome....please share your experiences with us, and of course, feel free to ask us questions. We are all in this together! Take care, and again welcome!

I just found this forum the other day, and am excited that I joined. Its good to see all these people sharing experiences. None of my family or friends know what I deal with, but everyone here does. Im blessed with not having serious UC, but I have my share of unpleasent bathroom time. I find drinking a mixture of organic apple cider vinegar(3tsp), water, and honey calms my guts. I also eat mostly raw foods. I have been off meds for 4 years and flared only once. I hope you get better.

Hello Loneylane, thanks for the warm welcome, I've been on Remicade since september 2005, I was told that I was one of the first in Puerto Rico to receive Remicade for UC, it helped a lot (saved me from surgery), but lately I haven't doing so well, I was put on 40mg prednisone the 20th of november and the 26th i'll get checked at the IBD clinic here in PR, i hope that they lower a bit the pred, since I'm going less (about 6 - 8 BM) to the bathroom than before i was on pred (about 15 + BM), i still have blood in stool and a bit of cramps when going to the bathroom, I also started Rowassa last night and saw less blood on my stool, I really hope to be on remission soon sad i don't want to spend my holidays like these.

Hey, that Rowasa has helped many get over the hump of a flare while on Remi. I'm hoping it works for you, so keep us updated. I've been on Remi for about the same amount of time...and keep my fingers crossed everyday that it hangs in there. Take care.

Welcome!
You will learn lots on this site, and sometimes it helps just to know you are not alone. You are very young to deal with this nasty affliction. Hang in there, keep reading, and know that you have a source of info that is solid and always "on"
Take care,
Daughter,15 diagnosed 1-08 w/ UC Learning from you all.
Asacol, Prevacid, Flagyl, Prednizone 50mg, major flare, now off!, Hosp. @ U of C, Comers, four x this yr. Low residue diet still, and still having problems.
6MP, Colazol ,horrible acne/moon for awhile- No more Pred, but 6mp isn't working. Remicade next up.
Trying probiotics, fish oil, and Mangosteen for kicks.
update:
On 2nd infusion of Remicade, and still on all of the other drugs., except Flagyl and Pred. Better, not healed.

Honey:Not to sound unappreciative of things that I
don't yet comprehend...but I trust medicine and science. Keep calm, for you don't want to stress your mind or body.
God?... a big question mark and not for deliberation on this site. If it helps you, great... I am not sure that folks want to hear that God is not listening to them, and that is why they are hurting.... so we will just exchange as much info as we can that is actionable.
And we all remain hopeful.
