Hi everyone,

Anyone here drink or eat soy products.  Since I am a vegitarin (for ethical reasons).  They have great soy meatless meatballs, and veggie samosas.  Licks franchise also has GREAT and yummy products to choose from as well.

I picked up a Presidents Choice brand, Soy Chocolate milk and is is sooooo good.  It also has 6 grams of protein in every glass.

Anyone here also eat or drink soy products.

If you can't eat/drink Soy, what are your sympations.

During my first flair I ate several soy products, Silk Milk, "hamburgers" etc, they were not that bad, some where quite good, I'm going to start consuming some of those products again from time to time, although some people say soy fills them up with gas.

The only thing I eat that has soy is the Soy Dream Ice Cream, and whenever I order a drink from Starbucks. I've gotten used to the taste, but still isn't the same from regular milk.

Soy (beans) can cause gas as any gas inducing foods. Just remember that it's high in estrogen....for those who seem to have estrogen sensitive flares, that might be an issue around period times.

I'm one of those people that can't do soy because of the estrogen. I am highly sensitive to any and all hormone flunctuations. I tried the chocolate soy milk once and you're right - it is so very tasty! But it made my stomach feel weird. This was before I was diagnosed with having acid reflux. So maybe my stomach was sensitive to begin with because I wasn't on any medication for the reflux yet.

Soy was one thing I tested sensitive/intolerant to, but not real high. Doc said I could eat things made with some soybean oil, since I was finding it was in everything! But now that I'm off those foods otherwise, I don't have gurglies every time I eat something like before, and poo pretty normally except probably a little more often due to habitual preemptive visits to the bathroom.
49 year old female attorney, diagnosed UC/pancolitis 1985, no surgery but much suffering.
Asacol/5ASA 6x400 mg maintenance for 20+ years; use prednisone & Rowasa for flares.
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Food sensitivity test showed gluten, other intolerances; started diet without gluten, soy, dairy, tomato etc. Replete probiotic first, then Forte pills.
Achieved remission for the first time in many, many years!? Seemed so, but colonoscopy Oct. 6 proved not so, heavy inflammation in ascending colon & will be using Rowasa again. But I AM better.
