Are you all like me? I started sneezing some this past weekend. Monday I woke up with a stuffy nose by mid-day monday I was feeling horrible. Head throbbing and my nose was litterally dripping and from looking at my trash can in my office at the end of the day I probably went through half a cleanex box.

Then Tuesday I started feeling better, Wednesday even better and today Thursday completely back to normal.

That seems awfully fast to get rid of a cold, but that has been the way I have been since UC. Even when I was on immune suppresants. Does that mean my immune system is still functioning somewhat normal or the overactiveness is not normal at all?

Maybe you were able to keep the cold virus from penetrating past the nostrils and preventing it from going past that area?

You are using some antiinflammatories, so it's possible that's what helped your immune system fight it off quickly.

I've had it happen only once where one evening I could actually feel something "buzzing" in my nose with sneezing, watering eyes, congestion..etc. I blew my nose every 5 minutes and by the time I went to bed it was gone. Now, it could have been an allergy, but I'll never know.

I do take Cold FX at the start of a cold and L-Lysine but some stay and others are kept at bay.

I'm happy for you it didn't turn into anything worse.

There's a lot to say for blowing noses a lot! Sometimes we don't have the opportunity and "snorking" sucks it in farther...

Be well...you're on a roll!

You're lucky. My colds stretch out at least 10 days and sometimes weeks. In the past couple years, I've been getting colds that will last about a week, then go away for a few days and then come back even worse. It's loads of fun.

I usually don't have a cold last very long, that is on the rare occassion I get one. A really good tip though, oil of oregano will fight a cold quickly and it's a natural anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, antibiotic, so some people have success with it for their IBD using it everyday...just a few drops a few times a day mixed in a small amount of 100% OJ does wonders for a cold for sure.

I will keep that tip in mind next time I have a cold, pb4. I'm always looking for cold remedies, since I seem to have one so often in the winter. Thanks!
