YAY! I won costody of my 3 year old beautiful little daughter. I revised my signature today and it's her birthday so I had to write this post. I have had temporary custody since January this year, but Final Custody court was December 1st. I had been working extra part-time jobs, saving work bonuses and income tax returns and have had 3 different roommates all while dealing with my ulcerative colitis in order to pay way way too much child support and afford a lawyer and I have done it all for her...
I am so relieved b/c I was stressing over the fact that I could lose her. I stressed thinking about the environment she would be exposed to if I had lost the battle. And needless to say we are both attached to eachother and she is my inspiration and motivation in life. I have been feeling better and better b/c my UC inflamation is obviously improving and maybe it is because I am so happy and relieved to have her and bring her up my way. You all wouldn't believe how much she steals the spinach and brocolli off my plate after she finishes
She helped (or I should say did most of the work) when we baked a caked yesterday. She is so happy with life and such a delight for me. I just had to let you all know.
28/M/TX single parent of gorgeous 3yo girl (revised 12/12/08)
Severe Colitis (pancolitis) since January 9, 2005
currently:  Mildly Flaring
RX/day: none! Tapered off Prednisone 9/20/08. Lost job and insurance 10/2007 and stopped taking asacol and Imuran cold turkey
OTC: enzymes everyday, turmeric, seldom use probiotics, vitamins & other natural treatments
Diet: SCD helps tremendously, but am not strictly on it.
Other: Prayer, food combos, good posture, chewing more, etc.

Congratulations!!!!!! I'm very happy for both of you, what a great xmas gift!!! They grow up so fast, feels like yesterday that my 3 yr old daughter was kicking around, now she's out on her own and will be 19 in January (but I still have my son to baby for a few more yrs at least).

My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)

I am sooo happy for you. I know that the main reason I keep going despite this horrible disease is because of my 5yr. old who has only known me as sick... She makes me laugh and definitely keeps me moving even when I just want to lay down.

The best of luck to you
