So the doctor wanted a stool sample to check yet again for C. difficile. I pick up the container and bag and the lab yesterday and filled it... Boy, that was fun. My husband and I were laughing at the little scooper that comes in the container. too funny!
Then I put the specimen in my purse and went to work, hoping to drop it off at the lab after work. Well, I didn't zip my purse. In my office while a had a colleague with me, my purse tipped over and the bag with large letters SPECIMEN.. rolls out. I don't think my colleague saw exactly what it was and I didn't offer - I quickly picked it up and put it back in the purse.
THis incident could inspire many different reactions. I quickly called my husband and sister. Of course, they were laughing...

Oh no! I thought you had to keep those refridgerated!! I guess a good excuse would be "blame it on the dog." If they rolled out I'd say - oh darn, I forgot to bring this to the vet!

That sounds so familiar, I was in my step-mother's office and used the the bathroom, which she shares with around ten other people, when I had to give a sample. Of course I had the container, a spoon, rubber gloves, the hat, a biohazard know the whole works. For some strange reason there was something resembling a nightstand in the bathroom, so I hid it all in there until I had to use it. Before UC I probably would have been mortified of this, but all I did was giggle the whole time...and nobody could figure out why!
