So I was in the ER Wednesday night for my ribbon-shaped stool and the pain associated with passing or not passing them. Along with nausea and extreme fatigue. I was given 2 doses Morphine and blood and urine tests. My blood pulse was high all night long (supposed to be between 70-80) mine was level around 111 and spiked at 128 during cramps. I ended up throwing up while straining in the bathroom in the waiting room. They couldn't do much for me but call the gastro on call that night and it happened to be "mine"....the one who diagnosed me but that I havent seen in over 2 years (shes terrible and I hate her) BUT I have to go see her tomorrow, if I wanted to see another Dr it wouldnt have been til late Jan or Feb...

so given that....I dont know what to say to her. she doesnt listen to me and my feelings and stuff well and tries to tell me how i feel. I am not in a flare, this is not the colitis, i think I have an obstruction. How do I make her care and find out? I havent been to a Dr in so long because I dont have insurance and its liek $300 to talk to her for ten minutes... I dont wanna waste this precious visit....any advice? I really dont want to waste this

It's not unusual if the doctor doesn't want to discuss your feelings; generally, they want to hear what the patient's PHYSICAL symptoms are. Go to the Monday appointment prepared to discuss what you've experienced in addition to ribbon-shaped bms, be it fever, chills, nausea, cramps, rectal bleeding, etc. Then when the doctor asks why you have put off medical consultation, explain your insurance situation. I know it's hard to control your feelings when your body is making you miserable, but try to get the doctor's attention by being as clinical & systematic in your explanations as your education has prepared you to be. Good luck & let us know how you're doing. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

May help to write yourself a list of symptoms (with dates if possible) and a list of queries, then sort them into order of importance to you. Good luck!
