I am wondering what medications are out there to treat flares. I know prednisone and entocort are two. Is remicade used as well?

Sometimes doubling the standard doses of asacol or lialda help with flares.
Lialda 2x2 every day.

Rowasa enemas help me during flares! I know others use them as a maintenence drug as well.

5ASA meds are used for treatment and for maintenance...both oral and rectal.

I think giving them a fair trial unless it's obvious one cannot take them...albeit patience is needed....can help to avoid the immunosuppressants, systemic steroids and biologics.
