So I have been off azathioprine for two weeks and on Cellcept for for two weeks now.  I have noticed maybe a 15% change for the better w/my UC and actually think my kidneys are getting worse I notice more bubbles and swelling.  My UC wasn't bad before, I was just having 1 to 2 bm's a day, sometimes w/blood.  Haven't had much blood at all now.
Cellcept can also be used for UC in some cases it is also an immune suppressor.  I'll try to post to let everyone know how it goes.
I think I will know more next month after it has been in my system for a while.
Beth, 33 ~ hoping to taper pred successfully, wish me luck!

Hi Beth...some improvement is definitely good, but the fact you're believing kidney symptoms is not good. Have you contacted your nephrologist about it? Is Cellcept usually used for kidneys?

Thanks for the update..hope you continue to feel better and that this is just a glitch and not kidneys.

So if it's better for your UC but worse for your kidneys then the neph was wrong again, no? I wish they would solve your kidney problem already-- grrrrrrrrrr! When is your next check-up? / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])
