As some of you may remember I had a scope in mid Oct of this year and there wasn't even any sign I had IBD even in the pathology but now two months later I'm bleeding again.I had my proctologist check me today for the slight chance it was from a hemmie or and old fissure but he said he went up about 18"s and I was covered in mild colitis : (   . So now I have to up the corti foam again to every day and pray this gets it under control again. I hope and pray I don't have to move up to stronger meds and I will not take pred period.

My GI doc at Uof M who is Head of the GI dept is amazed when I do go onto remission that my body shows no traces of the disease...my proctologist feels the same way.

In addition to the colitis acting up again, my back and neck have been quite bad lately too (got some herniations and bulges) plus I have to have sinus surgery and a local dentist screwed up a root canal in an eye tooth which will require gum surgery to get to the affected area at the top of the tooth.  Geez Christmas isn't looking too good for me right about now LOL .... : (

That's too bad all these nuisances are bothering you, but try to stay positive. Hopefully, you can get relief from the Cortifoam or add liquid retention enemas that reach farther up the left side. RE eye tooth root-- it's longer than the other teeth & can be uncomfortable after treatment-- best to have a reliable endodontist work on it. Beware of antibiotic for root canal that can aggravate UC. Best wishes to get back in remission soon; take care & you'll do it. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

Sorry to hear of all you are suffering with bbc.   I had several problems with abscessed teeth while on prednisone this past year.  Cipro was the antibiotic of choice along with Flagyl of course.
When I am in remission my colonoscopy shows no sign of UC either.  Weird, isn't it?
But when I am flaring...oooooh boy!  They had to use a pediatric scope on me while I was hospitalized, couldn't get the adult one up there because of the inflammation.
Hope you are feeling better real soon.  Try to have a nice Christmas.

Update 11/03/08...finally in remission!!  Hope I don't jinx myself.  Off the prednisone since 11/01/08...now see if I can stay off for longer than two weeks.  Other meds: 6MP (75 mgm), colazal (6 per day), Benicar and Toprol (high blood pressure meds), Probiotic (2 per day), fish oil capsule and multi-vitamin and calcium with vitamin D.

Thanks guy's...if I shared with you all what I've gone through in the last few years and months it's no wonder my colon has been in and out of flairs : ((  Oh well could always be much worse : )

Anyone catch Suzanne Sommer on Larry King as she discussed very enlightimg info about alternatives for major disease and she mentioned HCL for digestive disorders as we stop prodicing hydrochloric acid once we hit 40. Her new book is called Break-Through and I can't wait to read it.
