Happy Holidays Everyone!

I have a question about my prep tomorrow for the procedure on Monday.  I know I have to stay on a liquid diet, but should I stop taking my Asacal as well?  How about supplements?  Doc's office is closed today and I didn't think to ask him before.  You would think I would remember since this will be my third colonoscopy!  Thanks.

Doctor always told me to stay on my meds.  Meds for UC that is and blood pressure.  I can't remember whether or not I still took the vitamins though.  What prep are you taking?  Good luck!

Update 11/03/08...finally in remission!!  Hope I don't jinx myself.  Off the prednisone since 11/01/08...now see if I can stay off for longer than two weeks.  Other meds: 6MP (75 mgm), colazal (6 per day), Benicar and Toprol (high blood pressure meds), Probiotic (2 per day), fish oil capsule and multi-vitamin and calcium with vitamin D.

Thanks.  I'm taking magnesium of citrate (2 10-ounce bottles at different times) and 3 tablets of Dulcolax.  And that's it.  I'll take my Asacol but I'll give up my supplements tomorrow.

Do take your meds until you start the mag. citrate. Once you take that, any medications you take will be washed right through, so no reason to waste them.

Good luck, and stay close to the loo!

Oh, that isn't a bad prep at all.  They gave me that while I was hospitalized.  Tastes like 7-up.

Take your UC meds after you've finished the prep and the bms, and in the morning after the c-scope when you have breakfast.

That's what I do, anyway.

I've never used the prep you're doing..hope it goes well.
