I saw my GI on Dec 18. I informed him that I had only 1 BM a day about every other day. No blood , mucus or urgencies in 4 months. He declared me in REMISSION. I don't have to see him for 6 months unless I have problems or my blood work shows something. Merry Christmas to me. I have been eating anything I want. I am enjoying salads & raw vegetables plus some Christmas cookies & candy. I am starting to put on some weight so I am going to have to cut back on the cookies & candy. I am planning on hitting the gym after the holidays. I have been truly blessed.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!! It's wild to have a bm only on alternate days-- makes one feel so normal again, after the living hell of UC flares. Best wishes for continuing good health. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC; currently on 2-3 original Colazal daily for maintenance of remission)

You are right about feeling weird having a BM every other day. At first, I was paranoid wondering when it was going to hit me & I would have to run. As time went on, I got used to it. I am getting to the point of not wondering where the nearest bathroom is at. That feels really good. But it is still in the back of my head when I hear a gurgle in the cut, I still analyze it to see if I need to start making tracks to the nearest bathroom.

Yes I am staying on the same meds. Nothing will change there unless I get a bad report on my blood work. I went into remission after I started taking Align.
