Dear All

I wish you all good health and rest from this DD.

Those of you that know me will know I only come on here when I am unwell (sorry) and tend to stay away when in remission. My first diagnosis was in Oct 2007 after having rectal bleeding and 4 bowel movements a day. My second one was in June 2007 again with the same thing but this time with mucous. I feel I am about to embark on another one as I have noticed red specs on the tissue and stool. Ironically all of my incidents have been after either taking anti-biotics, flu medication or anti-acids causing acute diarrhoea.

I have an appointment at a specialist national IBD centre on 13th Jan and ironically this flare may have come at the right time for that. But I hate this disease and don't want to have it at any time.

Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? e.g. shall I up the suppositories and tablets to try and fight it off before it starts? Anyone else notice themselves being on the brink and make adjustments?

Diagnosis Oct 07 and then Aug 08: Inditerminate Colitis currently under some control using Asacol Enema Current Medication: 1000mg Asacol Suppositories, 800mg Asacol Tablets x 2 a day

Welcome back LR! happy new year.

Are you still on the suppositories nightly?

Don't up the Asacol...3200 daily is quite enough.

You could increase your fibre with a supplement and consider a probiotic.

maybe insert and extra suppository at night?

Diagnosis Oct 07 and then Aug 08: Inditerminate Colitis currently under some. Current Medication: 500mg Asacol Suppositories, 800mg Asacol Tablets x 2 a day.

Hi, shucks..blush..lol!

You could stack the suppositories, but I would suggest you use one in the morning and one at night.

Right, didn't inherit the math gene from my accountant father..sheesh.

Have you don't probiotics in the past?

Hope you feel better soon,
