I was flaring hardcore when I was initially diagnosed and that is the only colonoscopy I have had. It was 4 years ago. It showed inflamation throughout my colon and some small patches of redness.
My question is When is the best time to get one? during a flare or in remission? I would think the results would be significantly different. What are other factors to consider?

For some GI's it doesn't matter but if you are flaring your colon is bit more fragile and the complications rise slightly which is why some GI's prefer to do the scope when your flare has calmed down a bit. But if you are severely flaring and nothing seems to be working then some GI's want to scope just to take a peek and see what's going on. So basically it is up to your GI and how he/she wants to proceed. I've had scopes both while flaring and while in remission.
