In my research I have found that Salicylates (aspirin) is in Asocal. I can not take aspirin. Every time I have in the past I have vomitted so should I be taking the Asocal?

You should not use Asacol if you are allergic to mesalamine or to aspirin or other salicylates (such as Disalcid, Doan's Pills, Dolobid, Salflex, Tricosal, and others). You should talk to your GI about this.

I am allergic to aspirin- I can't even take Motrin or Advil. I break out in hives, cannot breathe, face swells. I have taken Asacol, Lialda and now Colazal and have had no problems.

So, don't necessarily dismiss these drugs, but definitely talk to your doctor about this.
