Hello all! Its me again..WishfulMA...grasping at anything before having to go onto 6MP. I noticed from a fellow poster that vitamin E enemas are recommended for proctitis. I found a link on curezone from a Sheldon person who cured himself...but there are sooo many posts I can't seem to find the recipe for the enemas or the specific diet he refers to.
Does anybody have this information? Has it worked well for you?

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant.
I CURED my severe condition of ulcerative colitis over 25 years
ago with a vitamin E enema you prepare yourself and diet.No
other medication. No problems since. Results within one week. The correct
diet of fiber binds the stool and provides the proper environment for the
growth of good bacteria removing the constant colon
irritation produced by wrong food choices which gives the open
sores a chance to heal. The vitamin E enema works with the body
immune system to heal the colon wall.
The enemas are made from the vitamin E you buy in a drugstore.
Additional infomation at Type vitamin E
enema in the CureZone search window found on the upper right hand side of the opening page. The first posting Issue 64 will take you to updated
information. On the same page, under Support Forms, find additional postings under the listing vitamin E enema #116

Sheldon, what can you eat during enemas? As I understand, it's not a lot of choice...Do you have to follow the diet forever, or you can let yourselves some goods? Diet is my major problem :((((

You will be eating a healthy diet.Once you see a positive result for a time, you can try one new food.Your colon will give you the answer by stool form.number of bowel movements and no blood. The addiction to processed food is the the main cause that prevents complete colon sore healing.Once you pass a fecal occult blood test(can be purchased in a drugstore)your colon is healed. No more future flares. You are CURED.You can go back to junk food.
Please keep us posted.

Hi folks,

I've started doing the rectal vitamin E thing about 10 days ago.
One thing I can say is: GO FOR IT... NOW.

Here's my story.. I had my first flare up 3.5 years ago when I was 24. I was on 40mg Prednisone and then on Salofalk (5-ASA) as a maintenance drug. I noticed that my hair was getting thinner and was starting to fall pretty bad so I stopped the 5-ASA. (I don't know if the hair loss was caused by the Prednisone or by the 5-ASA though).

I was then OK for 3.5 years up to a month ago when a pretty bad flare up started. (Same context as before by the way: A lot of personal stress and no physical exercise.)

Thanks to Sheldon for painting the whole internet with his story, I found his info, as well as a study by Dr. Mirbagheri in World Journal of Gastroenterology dated October 21st 2008 proving that vitamin E works for colitis, and I decided to give it a try. I'll do anything not to go back on Prednisone.

Before starting the vitamin E treatment, I was going to the bathroom at least 15 times a day.. waking up at night to go, etc.. There was a lot of blood, abdominal pain and discomfort. No sexual desire, no desire to do anything... My life was basically about sitting on that toilet bowl.. You all know how it feels..

But, instead of using normal vitamin E gel pills like Sheldon explains, I'm buying this stuff: . It's pure liquid vitamin E in a bottle.

I live in Canada. I get those for 10$ (28000 UI bottle). Pretty much the same price as a bottle of 400ui pills would cost, except I don't have to spend half an hour every night to squeeze the oil out. Then I use a baby ear syringe to administer it. I'll be getting a real syringe soon (with no needle of course) because there is a bit of loss of vitamin E with the baby ear thing.

- After 2-3 days of administering 8000ui (1/4 of a bottle) every evening, I was able to sleep the whole night. My bathroom visits were down to 7-8 per day. Still a lot of blood though.

- After 10 days (today), I feel great.. The flare up is still there, but it's almost normal. I do still bleed a bit, but I have no urgency to the bathroom, no pain, no discomfort. Right now it's 4pm over here, and I went only 2 times today up to now. I can live with UC no problem if it stays like that!! (But something tells me that it will continue to improve.) By the way, yesterday night, I drank a full bottle of wine with friends as well as a few beers... and there's no impact today except a headache... I think that food has a much less bigger role in curing UC than we all think.

Of course, irritable foods will irritate the colon, but stopping these foods won't cure UC either.

Yesterday I went to the hospital to get a prescription of 5-ASA (during which, btw, I waited 6 hours without going to the bathroom). I will start the 5-ASA because I've read a study that proved that 5-ASAs + Vitamin E greatly enhance the beneficial effect.. It gives better results than 5-ASA or Vitamin E alone. See it here:

Well, that's my story. I urge you guys to start popping Vitamin E down there, you wont regret it.

Get well soon everyone,

It does sound plausible that Vitamin E enemas would help sooth an inflamed colon. I didn't try it, because diet and probiotics were enough to get me in remission. I'll give it a try if my colon gets inflamed again. Thanks for the info.

Hi Sheldon

I hope you remember me. It's nice to find you online. You have been advising me over mails about the Vitamin E enema in 2005. I am PS from India. As you may recall, the enema was quite helpful, but as I as bleeding 30 to 35 times a day, my doctors put me under knife in October -November 2005 and since that day I have been regrettting as to why I got this surgery. Anyway, to all my friends, I strongly recommend Vitamin E Enema and diet suggested by Mr. Sheldon. He is very kind hearted and helpful person and all of us owe a lot of appreciation to him.

Hi Wishful

As already informed. I did try and follow vitamin E enemas recommended by Mr. Sheldon and have myself been recommending it to others after that. It is quite helpful. Infact Mr. Sheldon had been constantly monitoring my health in 2005 and had sent diet chart, which is given hereinbelow.

Inline Attachment Follows-----

The diet is just as important as the vitamin E enema. Vegetables have more insoluble fiber that binds stool. Fruit has more soluble fiber that has the opposite effect. No fruit or fruit juice of any kind. No frozen vegetables. Freezing destroys the fiber structure. It is easy to use all the vegetables. Wash them all and use part of each,
keep the rest in the refrigerator. I fill a bowl 7\rdblquote x 2.5\rdblquote  twice a day with cooked broccoli,\par
carrot,  parsnip, turnip, yellow squash ,mushrooms. It is easy to prepare\par
. Asparagus, UPPER part of stalk only, baked potato (Don\rquote t eat first skin or the second  . \par
layer just the white part), cauliflower, cucumber, onion, spinach, carrots and tapioca pudding (can be made with soy milk) are good. Slow cooking in an oven in water in a Pyrex covered dish is best, always drink the water. On a George Forman grill, I cook either salmon or chicken breast these can also be cooked in the oven at the same time with water in a different covered dish. The vegetables can also be boiled. I fry using water then adding olive oil, egg whites, 1/3 cup, (sold in a carton) or whole eggs every day. Add the olive oil last .High heat destroys many  benefits of olive oil.\par
. You can use 3 eggs a week or more if you don\rquote t have a cholesterol problem. Boiled eggs and poached are fine. You can also use canned tuna or sardines or other fish. Cold water fish is best because of the omega 3 oil it supplies.\par
. Each day I have at least one or two\par
\'bc cups of brown rice (the best) with low fat yogurt, kefir or soymilk, sugar and salt (sea salt is best) are ok.If you don't eat yogurt or kefir, use a probiotic. I cook \'be of a cup of  pearl barley; then keep in the refrigerator and use at every meal three tablespoons of barley. Be sure to eat a variety of vegetables at every meal. \par
Also corn (Delmonte uses unfrozen corn). Again fresh is best only small young kernels..\par
It is very important to use distilled water. No cold drinks.  Some bottled water is no better than tap water.  I use a distiller that is sold by American Water Distillers sold for $99. Type in distiller in the search window of google. What I\par
remove is \'bd cup of brown water from every gallon of city water and since the colon is sore it may be sensitive to these things I pull the electric plug before the distiller shuts off which saves cleaning. Drink 6 glasses of water each day (8 oz).\par
I can eat every thing in a restaurant now, even salads, without a bad effect. I may lose stool form (I use as the indicator) for a bad food choice. This diet is not written in stone USE OTHER fresh vegetables you may prefer or limit the grains at first.. Eat comfortable portions and a variety of vegetables, each have a different fiber, minerals and vitamins. There will be an increase in flatulence until your colon becomes accustomed to the fiber in your diet. As always, any question, ASK. You should also be sure to eat egg whites or eggs twice a day and walk at least 30 minutes a day. No stressful exercise.\par
If you cannot follow the diet CLOSELY for a short time period to get the positive result, don\rquote t start the procedure. THE PROCEDURE WILL NOT WORK IF THE DIET IS NOT FOLLOWED PROPERLY. The fiber binds the stool keeping irritation against the colon wall to a minimum and supplies a proper environment for the growth of good bacteria that stops the bleeding and aids the colon in healing itself. The vitamin E works at the source of the infection.\par
The above vegetables are all high fiber. You should see a positive effect in 6 days. AFTER the procedure heals, you can make diet adjustments that will be right for your colon condition. The food should be COOKED but not over cooked and warm.\par
THE OUTER SKIN OF THE PARSNIP, CARROT, TURNIP, BEETS, POTATO and CUCUMBER and ONION should be removed. Vegetable skins have a high concentration of fiber that can be an irritant to the colon. \par
A $ 2.50 vegetable peeler works best by removing more of the top fiber layer.\par
Keep me informed daily of your diet. Most poor results happen from an improper diet.\par
Follow the diet as closely as possible.\par
Remember NO fruit or fruit juice\par
If you try the procedure, any information sent back should be helpful to others.\par
The Elaine  Gottschall SCD diet will not work ,there are to many wrong foods.\par
If you have not been using vegetables, start the higher fiber diet by  increasing the portions over a period of time. \par
Distilled water NOT filtered, mineral, spring, tap or bottled water,. Use reverse osmosis if necessary.\par
. Boiled eggs are OK.\par
One multi vitamin & mineral capsule and one 500-mg. vitamin C (ester C is best),one  400 IU vitamin E ,and one selenium capsule every day.\par
Posting your results at \cf1\ul\cf0\ulnone  In the search window, type vitamin E enema.. This will be of help to others. There is also further information about the procedure.

All the foods of the procedure diet are listed for each blood type.\par
Since this diet was chosen from my experience by chance and my blood type is 3A,
most  foods happened to be beneficial to my blood type. It may be beneficial  to check the foods of your procedure diet for your type blood from the blood type list.
\cf1\ul\cf0\ulnone      \par

Buy a 4" bulb end ear syringe the kind used to clean an ear.A plastic extention is not necessary.\par
. Pictured  on google in IMAGES section .Type in ear syringe for a picture.                                                                                                                  Day 1 -start 2. empty 2 capsules of vitamin E into 1.5 tablespoons of distilled water (the same volume as a corticoid enema) 800 I U total. Do this by sticking a pin into a capsule and squeeze out the contents. Suck up the mixture (it does not dissolve in the water). I used a small tapered wine glass. 1.5 tablespoons water  for all capsule levels.\par
Use as an enema but retain the mixture. Only one enema a day is necessary.\par
3. On the second day empty 4 capsules and repeat the same procedure.\par
4.On the third day, empty 6 capsules and repeat the same procedure.\par
5. On  the 4\super th\nosupersub  day empty 8 capsules repeat.\par
Up to this point I received no visible results.\par
6.On the 5\super th\nosupersub  day, empty 10 capsules that\rquote s 4000 I U of vitamin E. The following morning was the first time I saw stool form since I could remember. No blood. Controlled bowel movements. Ulcerative colitis was no longer a problem. I will advise the best procedure at this point.
I had to repeat this every day for a long time or on the 2\super nd\nosupersub  day the gut would revert to\par
its old habits. No side effects. Take the enema after a bowel movement and if possible at bedtime or in the morning and continue to lie on your side a while to give the enema a chance to circulate through out the colon. If at first you lose some material, don\rquote t worry you will get enough of the vitamin E to work. I kept telling the doctors at the hospital they kept smiling. Stay at the 10 capsule doses then let me know of your results and I will advise you further. \par
Since that time, the ulcerative colitis has never been a problem. MY RECORDS SHOW THIS.
The vitamin E mixture used should be labeled 100% all- natural and have the formula    d-alpha tocopherol  with other mixed natural tocopherols and NOT  dl-alpha tocopheryl that is synthetic. Just 10% natural and 90% synthetic can be labeled as natural vitamin E.  Synthetic vitamin E is not is not very biologically active and will give a poor result if used.
. I have never taken another enema or ANY medication. At that time, I was also taking one multi vitamin& mineral table+ 500 mg of vitamin C + one capsule of 400 I U vitamin E. I stopped the vitamin E soon after. I even bought a motorcycle and put 15,000 miles on it. Remember I am only relating the facts of my experience and will be willing to answer your questions. Please advise me of your results so it can be of help to others. No fruit or fruit juice. Follow the diet.\par
Right after a bowel  movement  or before bedtime is the best time to use the enema for that day. Lay on your side with knees drawn up for easy insertion remain on that side for 5 minutes than lay on your back and the opposite side for 5 minutes each.\par
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.\par
Do not rinse the bulb after use and just clean the outside with soap and water.\par
You can spread a small amount of food grade vegetable oil or petroleum jelly around the tip for a comfortable insertion.\par
Let comfort be your guide.\par

Hello Mr. Sheldon

Sorry that in my earlier email I referred to you as "Hi Sheldon" in excitement. My apologies for that. Infact I have utmost regard for you and the kindness bestowed on me during my worst days when you recommended Vitamin E to me and dietary changes.

Thanks once again.

When no medications worked for me, my doctors recommended surgery. Vitamin E enema stopped my bleeding after my very first enema. I have to thank Sheldon for saving my colon . I am surprised that people are so reluctant to try his method

Hi mudua
Well you are right, the doctors would never recommend this because of the cost factor. Drug companies are spending billions on their research and development and they would never like to suggest or prescribe a medicine which costs hardly a cent or two. It is the mindset which is preventing and moreso their vested interests. I have been recommending everbody to try this and even to the doctors. Though I was quite late when I could get through Mr. Sheldon, who like an angel, even at the age of 82 years is helping the society. Imagine I was in last stages and had no option to prevent the removal of colon, even though I was time and again telling doctors to continue with Vitamin E enema and save colon. but they did not.
Spread the message across / paint the town read - Vitamin E and diet suggested by Mr. Sheldon does help and now thousands of people have saved their colon with this treatment.
One piece of advice to everybody.
"If you become sick and patient, one thing you should never loose is patience".
Cheers and Good health to everyone.
