First I want to welcome all our newer members to Healingwell!  I am so sorry that you had to find us under the circumstances but now that you're here let me assure you that you are NOT alone anymore.  Healingwell is a family friendly site.  We try to keep everything on a positive note because after all, we are a SUPPORT forum.  Sure there are days that we just don't WANT to be positive, we are only human afterall.  smilewinkgrin   But if in the event you are ever belittled or flamed, do NOT hesitate to contact a moderator.  We have several moderators here to assist you.  If you look to the right side of the forum, you will see a link to all the moderators assigned to the Uc forum.  If you ever have an issue with a moderator, please try to talk out your difference thru email.  All moderators have their email addresses under the forum ID names.  If in the event you can not work out your differences, feel free to contact the administrator and owner at admin@healingwell.com  Us moderators are fellow sufferers and we volunteer much of our time to help out HW as well as find help for ourselves.  Now some important reminders:

*Look for old existing posts that contain what it is that you are looking for before creating a new post.  Most times there are repetitive questions on certain subjects that can be found thru the search function.  Use the Google search instead of HW's search function.  You will get better results.  If you don't see what it is that you are looking for or if an old existing post doesn't answer your question, don't hesitate to post.

*Remember that what you read on here, natural remedies or medicinal should always be viewed as a POSSIBLE help to your situation.  Uc is highly individualistic, meaning what helps one person may not help another, so any and all changes to your regimine should be monitored by your GI.

*Do not hijack a thread.  If you have a question, please create a new post (after looking for older existing posts first).  For example, if someone is asking help on Asacol but you have a question about an enema; by you asking a question in the Asacol thread takes away information and attention from the original poster.

*This is NOT mandatory, but it helps if you create a signature to let us know the extent of your Uc, what medication you are on, what you are allergic to and what you have tried in the past.  But remember to limit your signatures to 10 lines or less-double spacing counts as a line - if you hit enter and you get the double spacing, hold down the ctrl button as you hit enter to get the single spacing.  To create a signature, go to the control panel located on the upper blue bar on the left side.  It is located next to the Log off.  Go to edit profile and create your signature from there.

These are the most important tips that I can think of at the moment.  Remember that if you should have any questions whatsoever about how HW is ran, do not hesitate to contact a moderator or even ask on the forum.  Many of our veteran members will be able to help you also.
