If trying to avoid the most known bad things ..... how is red wine chategorized in your diets?
Good, bad, doesn't matter ?

Also, what about Pistacie nuts and peanuts? (now that I don't eat sugar/chocklate anymore)

Had wine with lasagna one night, bad day next day. But I also had salad which I now know makes it a bad day next day. Am not crossin red wine off my list yet. Will try it again sometime with no other triggers and see what happens.

Wine just depends on how I'm doing as far as a flare goes.  When I'm not doing too good, even a little sip will make me sick to my stomach.  But when I'm ok, I can drink a little wine and not have it bother me at all.  As far as nuts go, I sometimes sneak some when I shouldn't.  I usually pay for it soon afterwards though.  Most UC patients avoid nuts since parts of them may not break down completely and can be rough on the colon lining.

I love pinot noir... and I love pistachios too.... Actually, those 2 things have been a staple in my diet recently! hhhm. Anyway, I find no ill effects from either. I try to get a wine with little/low sulfites, those can be a problem. And I chew the pistachios pretty well. But they seem to help with keeping things moving, if you get my drift! Salads however.... I love them but they're not worth the terrible next day effects!

I can drink a little wine and have a few -- just a few -- nuts, any more and they give me trouble.
Regarding salad, I can't handle iceberg lettuce, it is my worst trigger food I think. But I can eat romaine lettuce, in moderation. I like my veggies cooked thoroughly.

Raw fruits and vegetables can cause problems in most Uc'ers. It is hard to break them down and it makes the colon work harder. So if you are in a flare then it is usually recommended that you avoid raw fruits or veggies. However, once again this is one of those things that is highly individualized. Meaning some can do raw fruits and veggies anytime, flaring or not and be fine and others can't so much as look at them.

As for the red wine - it is the kiss of death for me! Not only does it bother my Uc majorly the next day but it also gives me migraines.
