My GI told me that it could take a while for the blood to go away with Entocort. Does anyone know? I have a lot of blood.

When I take it, it has never made the blood completely go away. It helps me some but it's not enough to put me in remission. My GI always says that you'll know in the first week of using it if it's going to help or not.

Did your GI switch you to another medication after Entocort? If so, which? Also, did you have a lot of blood?

It never stopped my bleeding. To be fair, neither did Asacol, Pentasa, Colazal, Imuran or Prednisone.

How much blood are you getting? What did your doctor say? When I was in the hospital, one GI said that the blood would be normal for me. Did he say the same thing to you? If it is, I would be feeling a lot better if someone other than me who is losing blood everyday when prednisone and entocort do not work.

I am with you. :-)

I've seen three GI's since I developed this DD. All of them have told me blood is never normal. If you have blood, you're flaring and that means the medication you're taking isn't doing the full job.

It usually takes about 1 month or so for the entocort to get in your system. It has always worked wonders for me.
Diagnosed July 2005 with Pancolitis
Asacol 4 tabs 3 times daily
Pro-Bio
Forvia
calcium
Entocort 3 in the morning

Did you have blood before starting entocort? If so, did you have a lot? Did the blood go away after the first month of entocort?
