I think it's better to continue on the Rowasa....I do, however, think you're on a high oral dosage of Asacol considering you have proctitis.
If you do eventually get the inflammation controlled, maybe eventually you could consider to lower the dosage if need be. At least you can increase in the future.
Awesome to hear you have good results with the Rowasa...didn't you use it in the past?
The Rowasa can be used for long-term...you should use it nghtly until you have NO symptoms...then use it for another week nightly and then go to every second night.
The longest I used it nightly was for 4 months (Salofalk enema)...then tapered.
20 years strong using them for flares and taper to maintenance....I hope they work forever.
