I have very bad constipation with over 3 wks now. Have used different laxatives and bulking agents with little or no result. My doctor told me to use bowel prep(Picolax) used before colonoscopy to clear the bowel. Took the first sachet of picolax this mornin had no results took the second sachet over an hour ago have just had one small BM and feel very sick. Stomach is very bloated and having very loud grumbling noises in upper stomach with over a week. (When I used picolax before colonoscopy a few mths ago I spend most of the day in the toilet). Anyone any ideas on what I should do?

Mate, I've had similiar recent experiences with constipation! ( took myself to hospital last Friday....like you, no 'natural' bowel movements in 3 weeks and laxitives seemed to have given up working...)

My advice is to contact your doctor as soon as you can! Don't take any more laxitives until you've spoken to him or her...

Let me know how you do....x

Prunes/prune juice? All I know is, once you finally get things moving, it might be a really good idea if you took a fibre supplement daily or increased your fibre via food daily since fibre aids with both D and C and drink lots of water...infact I hope you've been drinking lots of water everyday to help get things moving...so sorry you're going through this, being constipated is horribly painful and I hope you soon get relief.

My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)
