You can increase the dose and see if it helps you. I'd try an extra one today, (several hours apart from your first capsule), only one tomorrow, two the next day so you can increase your dose a little more gradually and avoid any possible die off.
Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis spring 1999.

Maintenance dose sulfasalazine. Probiotics, l-glutamine, vitamin D and fish oil caps. George's aloe vera juice. Oregano oil antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal. Mostly grain-free and dairy-free diet. Long-term remission with only minor blips.

I have experimented with probiotics using different probiotics, different dosages and different methods.

What works best for me is 2 culturelle capsules taken as an enema.

Try different probiotics and determine which is best for UC

My nutritionist recommended I take two powerdophilus probiotics daily with meals.  I take one with breakfast and one with dinner.  Each capsule contains Lactobacillus rhamnosus (4.2 billion), Lactobacillus acidophilus (3.6 billion), Bifidobacterium lactis (3 billion) and bifidobacterium longum (1.2 billion).  I order these online at Country Life.com.  My GI doctor is aware that I take these and said they are fine.

Update 11/03/08...finally in remission!!  Hope I don't jinx myself.  Off the prednisone since 11/01/08...now see if I can stay off for longer than two weeks.  Other meds: 6MP (75 mgm), colazal (6 per day), Benicar and Toprol (high blood pressure meds), Probiotic (2 per day), fish oil capsule and multi-vitamin and calcium with vitamin D.
