I searched and could not find the info I had before - sorry.
I have been using the hydrocortisone enemas for 5 days now.  They are much more liquid than the foam or even the Rowasa I tried before.  I have to use them over the toilet (due to physical problems).  Therefore, liquid is running into the toilet and out of me and I can only empty bottle 1/2.   I do retain that all night with some "work".  So far nothing is better - bleeding seems a little worse.  My NP told me there are no steroid suppositories equal.  I was using Proctofoam but switched to enema because it is stronger, I guess.  I am using it this way for at least a couple more days and then calling NP - I should see some improvement by now.
What I need is a stronger steroid rectal med that goes up a ways or at least stays in.

I use suppositories and they stay in. I dont understand how people hold enemas in all night. I once did a fleet and it made me go to the bathroom instantly.

Fleet enemas are meant to come right back out - clean you out - when constipated and for prep for tests.  These enemas for UC are to be retained.  I don't have a problem retain but can't get only about 1/2 in there because I have to do it bottle right side up - due to having to do it on the toilet - only place I can reach the necessary place to put it.  I have been using the Hydrocortisone enema (about 1/2 or little more) for 6 days and all it is doing is getting worse.  Not really a lot worse but more BMs and little more blood.  Today I had 5 BMs in four hours - each one a little more soft and each with small amount of blood.  This has not happened since I started taking probiotics.  Before the enemas I was using Proctofoam.  Only had a couple bms a morning - with blood - so doctor wanted to use something stronger to heal the last of my proctitis.  I will use it a couple more days and probably call Monday.

I also HATE this disease!!
