No, they normally don't go hand in hand. It is not clear yet what causes fibro and they have varying theories but one thing they do know is that it strikes women more so then men. I have had a couple docs say that I have fibro but I feel that I just don't fit into that category and that they are saying that I have fibro because they don't know WHAT is wrong with me. I am thinking, at least for me, that it's all nerve related. I have a friend that has fibro though and she does go thru hades when it flares. To me, it sounds like you may have some sort of arthritic problem going on rather then fibro. Fibro affects the muscles mainly and according to my friend, the muscles feel like they're on fire and she has sharp shooting pains but it's never in the same place - it sort of travels. If you look up arthritis and their varying forms, flu like feeling, muscle weakness and sore joints are all the typical symptoms of arthritis. However there are hundreds of different types and it's best to try to find the right one that you are inflicted with to be sure it doesn't cause any joint damage. In order to find out which one you have, you will need to be seen by a rheumatologist. They can check for different things in your blood but I have learned that you can still have arthritis and the blood work can actually show up as being normal. I am thinking, for me, that 6mp is slowing down whichever form of arthritis I have.
