My churning stopped when I tested intolerant to wheat and cut out all gluten.
49 year old female attorney, diagnosed UC/pancolitis 1985, no surgery but much suffering.
Asacol/5ASA 6x400 mg maintenance for 20+ years; use prednisone & Rowasa for flares.
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Food sensitivity test showed wheat/gluten, other intolerances; started diet without gluten, soy, dairy, tomato etc. Replete$$ probiotic powder, then Forte, now a stronger one (50 billion). Doing much better, but still having some bad days.

Lambkins, i agree with you....laying on the couch is MUCH more fun :) Hope your appt goes well tomorrow and will be curious what he says..sometimes my stomach is so loud my husband can hear it across the room!

Peety, I was tested for those and came back fine..still went ahead and tried a gluten free diet (only because i didn't believe them) but unfortunately it didn't make any difference :(

I hate the stomach grumbles! They always seem to be loudest after dinner. Doesn't seem to matter what I eat. Though the problem seems to be slightly less now that I take a probiotic after dinner.

Sounds like gas pains.  I get those all the time.  Did you try laying on your left side in fetal position?  That helps you pass the gas and you should feel better pretty quickly.  A heating pad helps too.  Probiotics definitely help.  My gas pains are nowhere near as bad as they used to be since I started taking Culturelle twice a day.
