I can count on one hand where I've been in remission and those remissions never lasted longer then 8 months. So I've pretty much flared heavily for at least 12 years - mainly because I was naive and thought it was normal to be like that when having Uc. It wasn't until I found HW that I realized that NO it wasn't normal. So when I became more proactive in my care, the flares became less severe but they were still there. I can honestly say now *knock on wood* that I think I am in remission and a fairly good one. Though I still have D 1-5 times a day, nothing else is bothering me. I think for me personally that this is the best I can get and I will take it. Now if I had the other symptoms such as pain or bleeding then no, I wouldn't be happy with that.

I havn't technically stopped flaring since I got this darn thing, it's just more manageable. So for me it's been....2 years.

Red_34 thats about how I am. I get D about 1-5 times a day. It all matters about what i had to eat that day lol. Sometimes I know i shouldnt eat something but i just cant help it. Now thats something else. The dr. i had in NC said that food will upset it. But the dr. i have here says that food shouldnt upset it. What one is right?? I think its the one in NC cause as long as I have had this food has always upset it.
