I'm not usually one to have dreams at night but last night I've had the weirdest one I think I've ever had. I dreamed that I was having the j-pouch surgery done. I met with my doctor and we planned everything and chose a date. When the day came I freaked out and wanted to not go through with it but my parents talked me back into and I had it done. I woke up and lifted up my shirt and the incision was right under my chest, where the ribcage (and that definitely wouldn't be where they'd go in) and I freaked out again. Then I remember the bag I had to wear and thinking that that would be a reason for my school to give me a single room with a private bathroom (I'm currently fighting with them about that right now...). It was all just really strange! I can remember every detail even down to the weird bump my GI has on his forehead! The weirdest thing of all is that I'm not even flaring right now and surgery hasn't been considered for me! Just a strange dream...anyone else with UC dreams?

I have all kinds of weird dreams when I'm not feeling good. It's the mind's way of dealing with the pain and discomfort. None of my dreams tend to make any sense and most times I can't even explain them because well...they don't make any sense.

A couple of nights ago I had a dream about a cockroach outside my kitchen window. For some reason I remember that part vividly. It was like a scene out of the MTV show Joe's Apartment. It flicked it's antennae and said "hello". *queue Twilight Zone music*

Happy (I guess) to know others have vivid dreams they remember so well.  I have a lot of problems with my scalp itching - trying many things.  Anyway, the other night I had a dream I was looking for a flea comb (which I have for my dog) so I could get the "ants" out of my hair.  My head was crawling with those very tiny ants.  YUCK!!  ElaineNY

I have very vivid and sometimes intense dreams. Always have really. I agree that dreams are our way of dealing with issues that we may not even know are there. So maybe your dream just meant that you are afraid of having surgery, even if it's not an option yet. I have had maybe about 4 dreams in total related to my Uc and very vivid too!

Nah I'm not afraid of it. I had to call my GI's office Thursday to have them write a letter to the housing department at my school so I can get a single room with a private bathroom so I'm sure that sparked it.
