Hi everyone..
well, it looks like the Remicade has lost its effectiveness for me. I've been on Prednisone for about a month, and now feel great again- I know many people have trouble with pred, but it always works for me. My gi doc says that I can't stay on it, which I agree with, and that Imuran is the next to try. I've read a bit about it on here- thanks to all of you that post info.
This is the first time that I've really felt well in about 2.5 years, and I'm just so worried about Imurans side effects, like nausea/vomiting, and fatigue. Is the consensus that the best time is to take it in the evening, with food? Anyone have any more info or tips about it?
Thanks!

I never had any problem with it no side effects whatsoever. I always took it with my breakfast. Is your doctor going to try Humira too? When I didn't respond to Remicade, my doctor was able to get me on Humira. He also put me on Imuran to help.

I take it at night with dinner. It doesn't seem to upset my stomach any, and since I got UC i've always been tired so I don't know if the Imuran contributes to that at all.
My hair does seem to be falling out though...*sigh* You will also have to get regular blood tests in the beginning to make sure it isn't doing anything too funky to your blood

I hope I have the same results as both of you have- I think I'll try taking it at night. Do you know, can it be right before bed, with a little food, or should it be earlier with a big meal? If it's ok to take it before bed that would probably work the best for me.
I'm also on VSL#3, colozal, fish oil, and calcium, and I feel great (well, great for UC!). I hate to get off the pred and shake things up, but I know i have to.
Thanks again-

I take mine at night before bed.  No food just a lot of water to help it down.  I still wake up nauseated most mornings - not really up for food for the the first hour or so - and I am quite tired come evening - go to sleep between 9 & 10 - but otherwise nothing too bad.  Hope it gives you the relief you need.

I take mine before bed (couple of hours) with a medium sized meal. It helps with the nausea.
Suffered my whole life before being diagnosed. Very bitter.
