Somehow my MRSA is back, or more likely it never was completely eradicated.
I have to take strong antibiotics again. I will load up on extra probiotics this time!
Last time I didn't know to do that, and I ended up flaring.

Asacol/5ASA 6x400 mg maintenance for 20+ years; use prednisone & Rowasa for flares.
August 2008 sought care of naturopathic doctor. Food sensitivity test showed wheat/gluten, other intolerances; started diet without gluten, soy, dairy, tomato etc. Replete$$ probiotic powder, then Forte, now a stronger one (50 billion). Doing much better, but still having some bad days.

That SUCKS!!! Do you have an infection too? I had a MRSA infection on my bicep and just after 2-3 days my arm looked like a body builders and was SO painful. An abscess was removed leaving me with a huge hole in my arm with undermining/tunneling. OUCH!!!

I was given the pills, showering stuff and nose cream to get rid of my MRSA but to be honest I was so overwhelmed with all that was going on with me I did not follow through with the showering and nose stuff. The nose cream is SO GROSS!!!

However, my last staph infection was not does that mean I may not have it anymore, or that I was lucky?

I'm also kind of okay with my chart stating I haven't been cleared for MRSA yet b/c when I have my surgery I'm going to get a private room and my husband can stay with me in the extra bed. : )

Good luck with your treatment!!! Aren't those antibiotics something else?! The orange/red pills made my potty a bright red every morning...the first time I saw it I about v-lined it straight to the ER b/c the last thing I needed was blood from another area of my body! : )

Oh that stinks! Hopefully it doesn't get any worse and the antibiotics clear it up. Don't you just love that love/hate relationship with antibiotics?? Definately up your probiotics and hopefully this strong antibiotic won't make you flare again.
