some advise please

if my rectum is still flaring can it make you have some discomfort on the right side? like gas buildup is what it feels like comes and goes.

 i was diagnosed with uc on april.16,2003. had my sec. colonoscopy on aug.22,2007 came back normal, i also take nexium 40mg once a day for acid reflux.take one multivitamin a day,started taking one a day acidophilus probiotic.

       I HAVE A DISEASE,MY DISEASE NOT HAVE ME!!!

Uhm...I think anything is possible. Everyone reacts differently to their condition and what's going on inside of us. Though your actual flare is localized to one portion your entire body is affected really b/c something bad is going on.

Gas build up is my enemy....
21 yr/old Uni student. Vancouver, BC
Imuran 150 mgs/day

Prednisone 7.5 mgs/day
Diagnosed UC Sept. 2007
Cal-Mag, CoQ10, L-glutamine and Iron supps. Also now trying probiotics Bio-K (acidophilus)

Pam, do you still have your gallbladder? I can't remember if you had that checked out already? If so, was it normal? I know you mentioned the right sided pain a few times before - it's been a long time since we chatted! So my memory is a bit fuzzy. Have you tried using Gas-X or Phayzyme and if so does it help?

Also, abdominal pain can be hard to localize. Because everything in there is sort of connected by a thin membrane that holds it all in position, inflammation and swelling on one side can hurt on the other. Every GI I've ever seen has told me the location of pain is not a good diagnostic tool.
