I work in child care, and never really gotten the stomach flu in quite a long time. Well, I now have the stomach flu for the third time in less than 6 months. Plus, my work needs me to pick up kids from school. Isn't life grand? Can you constantly get the flu with this disease?

Gastro viruses/bugs are caught from hand to mouth....constant hand washing is truly the key, but I tould think it would be difficult to totally protect yourself while working with kids on a daily basis considering they aren't vigilent in washing their hands.

Of course you can get it if you have UC...any amount of times, but you should have stool samples done to zoom in on what the culprits may be...

You're on Humira and Imuran..immunosuppressants..and it'll be less easy for your gut to fight them off since your immune system is suppressed.

I would suggest probiotics/prebiotics if you're on a low carb diet.

*Heather* Status..Asacol  (3 x2 daily); flaring /Dec 22, tapered to every 3rd nite..back to nightly (Jan 22)..tapered too fast

~Bentylol (dicyclomine) 20mg as needed; Ranitidine (reflux);  Effexor XR 75mg(depression);  Pulmicort/Airomir (asthma)
~vitamins/minerals/supplementsProbiotics....(Natural Factors Protec, Primadophilus Reuteri Pearls, Natural Factors Ultimate). @ bedtime
~various digestive enzymes as needed; started Omega 3
~URSO for PSC (or PBC) 500mg X 2 daily (LFTs back to NORMAL!!)
