Starting Friday I've had this weird pain on my right side. It feels like its right behind my hip bone and it kind of feels like gas. I feel it the most when I sit and if I move a certain way. I NEVER get gas bubbles on my right side but I don't think its gas because I would have gone away by now. Its not intense pain and I haven't had d but its just weird and I'm kind of worried about it...

Do you have any ovarian cysts? If so, this can be referred pain. Is the pain in between your hip and tailbone? If so, it can a sign of inflammation of the sacroiiliac joint. I'm just trying to get a picture of where the pain is.

or ovulating?

or appendix?

Definitely get it checked out if it persists longer than a few more days (if you believe it to not be ovulation)...or if it gets worse, do get yourself to emergency.

Anything new you ate in the past 24 hours that could have it be going through the small intestine into the colon...meaning possible gas?

Keep us posted for sure.

No cysts that I know of. The illiac crest starts in the back and rounds to the front. It hurts right behind where it stops in the front if that makes sense.
http://www.miamisportsdoc.com/Images/Ana-Hip.gif like where it says anterior superior illiac spine
I'm on birth control so I don't think its ovulation and it doesn't hurt enough to be my appendix... My mom is wondering if its a cyst. I feel it the most when I sit down. I wear my jeans on my hip bone and its right there. Thursdays I don't have class so if it stays the same way it is until Tuesday I'm going to make an appt with my dr and drive down for it on Thursday.

So then could it be the result of pressure from your jeans when you sit? KitKat Baker pointed out a while back that our middles expand more on some days than on others-- so that it may be necessary to wear a larger size jeans/slacks on those days to avoid discomfort. She said that she actually bought her favorites in 2 sizes so that if one pair pinched in the AM when she got dressed, she could change right away to the larger size. Hoping that's all you need, too, to feel better ... / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC ... [etc.])

Sounds like mostly likely Sherry is right. I saw the dr today and no bladder infection, no appendix issues. She's pretty sure its an ovarian cyst. I have an ultrasound tomorrow so I'll know for sure then.

If it's an ovarian cyst it can go 2 ways, it can shrink on it's own or it will get large that it will have to be drained/removed. I get many ovarian cysts that rupture on their own and I've only had one that had to be drained. I know I have a couple right now, mainly on my left side. But it doesn't hurt but once in a while. Women with Uc have a higher incidence of ovarian cysts then the normal healthy population according to the CCFA.

It doesn't cause too much pain and she said that my ovaries didn't feel too enlarged. I'm sure it'll go away on its own :) Although, my mom had one once and she said when it ruptured it hurt so much that she doubled over... :/

Sam I don't know about others, but Yes at times this pain on the right hip bone is because of UC. It is quite common with my younger brother, who too suffers from UC and my sister. After 4 to 6 years of UC, one gets this pain. I am not sure, if it is the same in your case or it is some ladies problem. Don't worry - it he has put you in it, he will put you through it.
