Prednisone induced Diabetes

So after taking Prednisone for 2 months my blood sugar is through the roof...anywhere from 200-800...my dr has me on insulin once a night before bed and said it may go away after i am off of the prednisone...has anyone else ever had this problem?

Yes I did face it too. While I was on strong steroids in the hospital prior to my surgery, I did suffer from steroid infected blood sugar, which crossed 300. I was constantly being monitored 5 times a day and was being given insulin shots. Generally, it comes back to normal level, once you are off steroids. At least it happened with me. That is the reason, why people who are on steroids are advised to regularly monitor their glucose level. Cheer up, nothing to worry. Can you believe that my sugar level used to go up and down same day.

Had two stage J Pouch Surgery Nov 2005 March 2006
Complications after surgery - Incisional Hernia and Ano Fistulas
on Combiflam, Multivitamins and restricted diet.
Tried Sallaki/Turmeric/Homoepathy/Allopathy/Chinese/Unani/Ayuvedic/Yoga before going for surgery
