I started to take them in the beginning, back when I was dx with spastic colon. At that point my GI recomended I quit them and switch to benefiber powder. He felt that was a better option. After that didn't work and I had had a colonoscopy. I was dx with UC. He then recomended i quit all fiber supplements. Of course by then he had a food diary to work with and he said I was getting enough natural fiber in my diet.
But back to your question... only once did I feel like I was going to "choke". And it was a time I was in a hurry and didn;t drink alot of water with them. I normally drink almost a gallon of water a day. I know this because i keep a gallon jug in the fridge and have to fill it everynight. But that time I didn;t and I felt ........ maybe the word is constriction?.. Either way... make sure you drink alot of water. Least thats my experience.
