It has been a week today since my colonoscopy and I still feel sore somewhat. My backside feels sore still, inside and out, I am belching a good deal of air off of my stomach which is a problem I had before the colonoscopy. The magnesium citrate prep totally appeared to burn my esophagus and insides to where my chest and upper gut burns a good deal now, and my upper gut gurgles at times. I am not having trouble ridding myself of any gas but the stomach gas sure seems to keep reappearing. Any suggestions on what I can do to get this tight stomach feeling to cease? Thanks.

Have you tried an OTC gas reliever such as Gas-X or Phazyme? I think though that if this continues, you should call your doctor.

I have been using Gas-X and it works for a while then eventually the gas comes back at times. I figure eventually it will pass, all of it, no pun intended, but it usually takes months for me to get over anything. It is not bad 24-7 though thank goodness. And anyway, I'm not mentioning the belching to them or next they will want me back in there to do the endoscope procedure, that will never happen.

Hey, if you need the endoscope it is easy as the colonoscopy - at least mine was.  Have you had one before.  ACtually, they gave me both same time - I had versid and demerol and don't remember a thing.  Probably, however, it is left over from the scope and will get better.  I always have a lot of gas with IBS and take gas-x and try to remember to NOT eat what makes me that way!
