They all cause the pancreas to release insulin...but there's nothing in the body to use up the insulin. It's even worse if the body isn't taking in carbs...there's little for the body to use for fuel.
Once the body recognises not enough fuel (carbs/glucose) is coming in, it'll start to go into "starvation" mode to reserve it's consumption.
So, free-flowing insulin causes the brain chemicals to cause cravings (to help force you to eat so that it can get the insulin burned up) and a slow metabolism will clearly cause weight gain.
cra43....your body is telling you you need sugar...sweet....so, you put more splenda (natural because your body needs sweet)...but not sugar or carbs it can use to convert into glucose....you're going to stay overweight.
Even if you exercise, not taking in the right amount of carbs to burn, your body won't up its metabolism to help you lose the weight.
I rest my case about
believing that 0 calories means a free for all. We can limit intake if there are actual numbers attached.....that's sugar included.
