Hey, thanks for posing the question about
Remicade. What led me to Remicade is that at the time of my dx, I had a very busy life and was up for a promotion. My late husband had been dx'd with UC about
1 1/2 years before me, so I watched him with all the trials of the different meds, so when I went to the GI, I told him that I wanted whatever it was that would get me into remission the fastest. After trying different meds for 6 months such as Asacol, Pred, etc, it was evident that I wasn't going to have a remission any time soon, and I was so very sick. Since my husband was barely working at the time (for different reasons than UC) I knew I was the sole breadwinner. My late husband tried Remicade with pretty good results, so I asked the doc to let me try it, and we gave it a whirl. I've never looked back and it's the best decision I could have made at the time. I've been having infusions for almost four years now (where has the time gone?) and I go every eight weeks. I feel great; haven't had any bleeding or mucous since I started. I have energy, although sometimes the UC creeps up on me and I have a "hit the wall" type of day, so I just have learned to take it easy on those days. I'm not a "take it easy" type of person, so it's hard for me to do, but really, it's good to take a lazy day every once in while. Other than that, I haven't had many problems. The Biotin/B-12 is good for energy and the Biotin part helps with my hair and nails. Red had mentioned this years ago, and I've found it to be very beneficial to me. Hope this helps!
Remicade - will have my 27th infusion on March 19 Vitamin B-12/Biotin, Probiotics
